Jax Juarez (They/Them) is an illustrator based in Grand Rapids. Their illustrations range from funky mixed-media projects to imaginative character designs, all featuring fierce and vivid colors. Through their art, Jax aims to create a diverse range of characters to provide representation for those who don't see themselves in mainstream media, something they felt was lacking growing up. Despite this, they have always drawn inspiration from the books, movies, and music they consume, which has fueled a love for creating dynamic story-driven illustrations. Jax is particularly passionate about illustrating animals such as foxes and cats, which they attribute to their involvement in the Warrior Cats art community. They have been a long-time participant in collaborative illustration projects with fellow community members. Jax credits this wonderful community for inspiring them since childhood, sparking a continuing passion for illustration and appreciation for animals (AKA the little guys).
